Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Deep Analytics LLC (DA) is a Montpelier Vermont based company specializing in applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to problems sets utilizing disconnected and resource constrained devices. DA is a customer research and development organization that works with the US Government Department of Defense, Homeland Security, Interior, and commercial R&D problems. As a small company with a broad focus and diverse output, our engineers all have varied skillsets to address the different priorities, skillsets, technologies, and collaboration needs of each project.  Projects range in length from a few months to a few years, and our engineers are responsible for meeting the evolving needs and challenges of each project from conception to completion.

Due to recent project wins we are looking for an additional hire to help us build ML solutions. We are specifically looking for people with 5+ years of experience in taking ML techniques described in the literature or in open source and applying those techniques to build custom ML solutions for our customers. Ideally, a successful candidate will have experience in the following areas:

1.     Developing test plans and collecting field data from sensors

2.     Building datasets for training ML algorithms

3.     Performing data analysis in a Linux environment

4.     Training ML algorithms, e.g., CNNs, GANs using real-world data

5.     Training ML algorithms using TensorFlow or equivalent

6.     Exporting and optimizing ML models for inference on embedded platforms

7.     Strong Python experience

8.     Developing custom signal / image processing schemes to process sensor data

9.     Executing technical work collaboratively in an R&D environment

10.  Working on U.S. federal contracts including from the Department of Defense and Homeland Security

The nature of our small business requires everyone on the team to wear lots of different hats. Our team works together on site to more practically and efficiently address the varying needs of each project. Successful hires will be able to perform solid technical work, have a passion for learning, and have an interest or experience developing technical content for proposals. Candidates must be self-starting problem solvers, and will be expected to design, implement, and test algorithms with limited guidance under deadline. Candidates will have the freedom to provide direction to projects and company initiatives.

Deep Analytics offers competitive pay ($80,000, - $120,000 based on years of experience), high quality health and dental insurance (VT Platinum), 4% 401k matching if employee posts 5%, $500/year education credit, upon completion of work relevant course, three weeks paid vacation the first year, and four weeks the second year.
